No, it’s not for one of mine

I just thought I’d share.

Dear friends are celebrating their son’s first birthday today and I made them the cake. I’m not going to post a picture of the poster that M made to put up, but the cake matches the the poster’s background and while the lettering is different, the colors are the same.

I’ve been making cakes for M and D for a couple of years now. It started when they got married. We had gone up to Niagara Falls with them for the ceremony, and they were talking about a cake for the reception they were planning for when we got back home. D loved chocolate cake; but when they had had their unity ceremony a few years before, the bakery had told them that chocolate cake and white icing didn’t work. I ended up making them the cake for their wedding reception. And now D asks for my chocolate cake whenever she gets a chance. (Though this time, knowing how busy I am right now, they didn’t ask, I offered.)
