Blah!!

Posted in Life, the Universe and All that Jazz at 11:31 pm by Meg

It’s like this….

Do I get some sleep, or clean up the pool, or unpack the rest of the boxes, or prep what’s left of Boy’s school work, or help Girl get ready for fair, or reconnect with friends here, or cook, or do some leatherwork for myself, or play the piano, or read, or read blogs, or get my photography and leatherwork ready for the open show, or help Boy get stuff ready for fair, or spend time with hubby, or clean the fool house, or take a walk in the woods, or write something on my blog, or do laundry, or write notes to friends that I’m missing, or go grocery shopping, or plan what we are doing for Boy’s birthday, orĀ  …..

I am not a real happy camper right now.

Around here, everything is on hold except fair stuff. Shearing, clipping, records, feet, feed records, packing, sorting, getting trailer(s) ready, matting photos, building decorations, considering how to transport practically our entire farm to the fairgrounds for a week, more lists, show clothes, open class forms, health checks, herdsmanship schedules, resubmitting entries that weren’t tabulated right in the 4H computer, organizing the “lazy” family in my group. Daily naps. Fair starts 10 day run on the 19th, we move in on the 17th. The countdown is on….

LOL - thanks I needed that. Living in suburbia, we don’t have the animals to prep, but it reminded me what it was like when I was a kid - (horses, dogs, beef cow, sheep, chickens, rabbits) and getting ready for fair.

We just stay in the exhibit hall.

Our fair starts on July 8 (my birthday, which will get lost again this year.)

First thing to take off that list is cleaning the house. And I second Doc’s (implicit) recommendation to take a nap every day. If laundry really needs doing, throw a load of essentials in to run while you do something else (Like take a nap). Hope life calms down soon and the chaos gets more enjoyable.

Geez woman, you just got home! The heck with the house. I know you can’t put everything on hold but as much time as you give everyone else in your family make sure you steal a little for yourself. One thing at a time and if some of the stuff doesn’t get done then the world won’t end sweety. ;)

I know, take my own advice but we’re not talking about ME so shoosh! LOL

Isn’t every day like that for a homeschooling momma? LOL!

    Thanks guys,

Actually, about the house. If you asked Hubby, he’d say that it never gets cleaned unless someone is coming for a visit. So, it doesn’t really bother me.

The week before fair always gets crazy trying to finish up projects and paperwork. It just seems worse this year since we’ve only been home about 3 weeks, my house is in boxes, we had to deal with Hubby’s car situation, and the pool (this is the best part of the summer to swim here) still has a brown layer at the bottom and the chemicals are wacked.

I needed to whine about the things I wanted to be doing.
