Cookies!!
It’s our tradition to make cutout cookies over Thanksgiving weekend. They are Hubby’s favorite (and everyone else’s), but to make them becomes a 3 day exercise. Friday we make a double batch of dough, Saturday we cut out the cookies and bake them, and then today they get iced. They came out so pretty I had to share.

[…] Since I posted about how we do cutout cookies (otherwise known as sugar cookies) over Thanksgiving weekend, I decided I had to include their recipe. Even though it’s such a basic cookie, this recipe gets raves. It’s from Betty Crocker’s Cooky book (originally published in the mid 60s, but republished in 2002). I have my older sister’s (L) copy from when she was a teenager, but I was able to purchase a newer copy a couple of years ago. If you are into baking cookies and can find a copy, I can not recommend this cookbook enough. I’m also going to post a favorite recipe of my father’s. I don’t tend to make them any more because while I love them and Hubby will eat a few, no one else eats them. And I certainly do not need to have more cookies around the house. […]
