Keep Boy in your thoughts today
I’m on my sister’s, P, extremely sloooooow computer, so I’m afraid that I’m not going to put any links in this post.
After a very nice dinner with Contemplator on Thursday, we got to P’s house on Thursday evening.
The last two days (and today) has been Magic, Magic, Magic. And the reason for the title is that Boy has made it to day 2! By the skin of his teeth, but he’s still going.
Friday was registration and a chance to play in some side events to play test his deck. He came out of it feeling pretty good. I met up with some another parent I know from home whose boys were all playing this weekend.
Saturday started early because we had to be in Baltimore before 9 AM. P’s house is 90 mins. out, but it was that or pay nearly $400 a night to stay in touristville.
Anyway, Saturday was 9 rooms and he needed to win 5 to continue. He made it, barely. So, we go into today. And I’m up before 6 AM to get him into Baltimore again.
About 300 kids started yesterday morning. About 120 are continuing into today. And only 64 will go home with additional scholarship money.
More importantly, he’s having a ball. He got a chance to talk to Garfield (the founder of the game) and to have him sign some stuff. And last night we stayed long enough for both him and Girl to be oversized cards in a funky fun game that Garfield and someone (I didn’t catch his name, but he’s one of the top professional players, and yeah, there are some people that make a 6 figure income playing this little game) else. They had fun and if any of the pictures come out, I’ll post them when we get home.

Good luck to you all, today. We are off to the day before the county fair–daughter #2 is on the Junior Fair Board and she has a job to do. I will be unloading the Dog Agility equipment–all in the heat and humidity of NE OH.
