Now, she’s whining that I’m not being fair (because I’m encouraging people to go over there and comment) and so she sticks me with a meme.
NOT FAIR, NOT FAIR.
In fact, everyone should go over there and tell her that it’s not fair……heh, heh…..
Okay, the meme is
Blue Tea For Five and Me(me)
And it started by a lady who has a blog called Blue Tea.
According to the original poster, the rules for this meme are: “Devise a list of 5-10 courses you would take to fix your life. It’s more fun to be in classes with friends, so include one class from the person who tagged you that you’d also like to take. Tag five.”
Well, from Jo’s list I guess I’ll take 1. Ancient Religions 101 – I’ve always enjoyed Greek and Roman mythology and years ago I took a class about the beginnings of Judaism (because of the family connection). I just find the whole religious mind set interesting and enjoy finding our about people’s religions and when and where their organization started. (Just ask K.)
Class 2 is easy – Beginning Gardening for Idiots - My mom had a green thumb. My sisters can grow anything. L, in fact, was a subsistence farmer for many, many years living on a cash income of about 10K a year. For me, it goes in one ear and out the other. I can not retain anything. I have a couple of African Violets that only survive because they do not want attention. I have no idea of what to do with the gardens that came with this house and can barely stay on top of keeping the shrubs pruned – there’s always something better to do. I really need someone to take my hand and walk me through it slowly and repeat things often.
3. Voice lessons – I grew up taking piano lessons and singing with choirs, but I’ve never had voice lessons. I’d really enjoy them. I enjoy singing, but I have no confidence in my voice and it would be nice to make it stronger.
4. Carpentry and woodworking class – I’ve built things, some somewhat extensive. But everytime I’m just kind of learning as I go and juryrigging the tools and equipment that would make it easier. It would be nice to have an idea of what I’m doing and the “proper” way of doing it. Then I might be ready to actually ready to strip/rebuild/ and stain the set of antique bookcases that my family has had for years and year.
5. Cooking – I’m a fair cook. But I’m in such a rut on what I cook that I need a fun class to bounce me out of it and find some new things to cook. I’m bored with my normal day to day things.
6. is always a good number, so I’ll end with – Knitting – I can’t. My mom tried to teach me when I was a little younger than Girl and it didn’t stick. More and more I’m feeling like it’s something that I’d like to pick up, but finding the time to teach myself isn’t happening. A class would do the trick quite nicely.
Now who to tag:
Kim because I’m curious what she’ll pick.
Andrea because I’m sure she’ll have an interesting list.
Jane because we all need to find new things to learn for ourselves and she’s good at that.
FosterEema because sometimes when we are actively learning ourselves it makes it easier for the little people in our lives to see the value of it. (And FosterAbba is waaay to busy.)
And Contemplator because she’s actually in school herself, but what if she could pick the classes outside of making the choices her program wants her to take?
Now Jo? Watch out, because the gloves are off girl!
