I Have Seen the Enemy….

Posted in Life, the Universe and All that Jazz at 10:37 am by Meg

And it is nothing like me.

Not a big surprise. I went through and visited all the blogs nominated in my category - Live what you Believe - and the only other non-religious blog is Mental multivitamin.

As I said, not a big surprise. So I’m Sprittibee’s token representation of the secular blogs that are out there. Yippee! Not.

Are you sure that Sprittibee is your enemy? She didn’t choose who was nominated. The readers did, and I assume, based on the results, that most of them are religious.

Congratulations on your nomination! The recognition has to feel good, even if you aren’t so sure you want all the prizes.

Oh, I’m sure that Sprittibee probably had no idea of who I was before my friend nominated me. OTH, she and Doc have been having a running discussion about the Homeschool Blog Awards and it’s that’s discussion that I’m referring to.

If you aren’t aware of their discussion, here’s the beginning of this year’s rendition - http://intothesunrise.blogspot.com/2007/11/oh-fuck-me.html - It actually started last year, but that’s another story.

Oh shot, Doc. I think I lost my G-rating and it’s all your fault!

I have a PG rating due to the use of the word “poop.” I would be automatically disqualified.

Spittlebee’s blog is rated PG. I’m so busy reading all those god-blogs trying to make my voting recommendations, I don’t have time to get in anymore fights about it, but in about 99% of them, there’s mention of gay’s going to ache ee double toothpicks, baby spankers, and/or the word between sew and sey in the dictionary. Good grief! I’m looking for a nice CLEAN blog to vote for!

I was surprised to see that as the organizer, Sprittibee didn’t remove herself from the list of potential winners. It seems kind of self serving for her to have the possibility of winning her own contest.

Kris, that is EXACTLY what went through my mind when I was looking at the nominations yesterday. She’s listed in several categories. Seems weird to me. I know there is a “panel” of people running it. I don’t think any of them should be eligible.

It is really bizarre that they are eligible to win their own contest.
