The kids and I are off tomorrow afternoon.
We’re going to U Pitt on Friday for Boy to check out the campus and Honors College and then up to Rochester, NY to see Hubby’s brother, aunt, and sister (and their various families) for the weekend.
If you haven’t wandered by Paradise Found recently, she has a great link to a webcam overlooking the volcano. It’s really neat.
Oh, and we’ve heard from a few more colleges. Nothing too exciting at this point. I think there’s 6 more outstanding.

I’m busy making costumes (only 3) for the play. Girl’s and Boy’s and since they match, the other kid playing Boy’s twin. Making Renaissance costumes is fun, but frustrating.

This is the other Antipholus’s doublet before I added the skirt. I thought I’d like the dark blue better than Boy’s lighter blue, but I don’t. The color is a little off in this shot.
I still need to put on the buttons (17 on each) and make and attach (lace-on) the sleeves, but…

(with a fuzzed face)
The shirt is an old dress shirt with the collar cut off and lace put-on in place of it and the pants are regular dress pants tucked into knee-high socks. It works.
Next week I’ll be doing Girl’s dress.

Our group had it’s annual Easter Egg Hunt yesterday.

And amazingly, once again the weather gave us a window of gorgeous spring weather. The sun came out about noon and stayed out until the evening, and the temperatures headed up toward 60. With no rain since about Wednesday, the ground had dried out enough that no one came home muddy and wet.
We had what everyone agreed was probably the largest turn out yet. 44 kids from about 15 families.

While kids hunted for eggs,

the moms (and a dad) sat around and chatted (and enjoyed the sun.)

Afterwards the kids traded candy and hung out.

And no photo post is complete without a shot of these two, they aren’t dating, just friends.

There’s more photos on my flickr account, but here’s a selection.

Hubby sent me looking at Etsy, and I’m considering making a bowl or something and try selling it on there.
It looks interesting and at 20 cents to list it and 3.5% of the selling price to sell it, it wouldn’t be an expensive experiment.
The catch is both making something (what?) and then pricing it. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should set the price of something like this?

I remember my mom’s advice with something (something she knitted maybe?) that 4 times the material cost is what handmade stuff should be priced at - that would set the bowl in the $50 to $100 range. But is that fair?
Has anyone used Etsy, or known someone who has?
