and a new bath puff
I love the contradiction in making those two purchases. She was walking around the store with one in each hand, and was quite happy with both.
Oh, the gun didn’t shot metal bullets.
It was an Air-soft gun. They shot these little plastic BBs.

I’m not sure we got her this one, but we did get a CO2 powered pistol. She LOVES it.
You see she was invited to C’s birthday party last week where they played in the woods with these – yes, they shot them at each other – and she had a great time.
Last week, she borrowed a gun from someone who had extras, but it didn’t work quite right and it was a pump one. Today they are off to play some more and we decided to get her her own weapon. And of course, some ammo – we did get the biodegradeable stuff, though I doubt it will in anything but the most optimal conditions.
Her brother is going to want one.
The perfect balance! *LOL*
I always wanted a gun when I was growing up. But they were boy toys back then and dear brother didn’t want a gun so none came into our home.
My boys have held air soft parties at our home too, with girls included, such fun. Just don’t skimp on the eye protection. One mom freaked out when a shot went through her 17yo son’s goggles — they were really, really cheap ones. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt and my DH replaced his goggles with a decent pair on the spot.

You know what? I bought one a few months back too! I’d never been a gun person (dh hunts sometimes, but I’d never wanted a gun before), but we were at some friends’ house (they’re the ones we buy a 1/4 or 1/2 a beef from every year), and a cow of their started going into this one pond they don’t let the cows in. My friend gestured to me and said “you want to do something fun?” and she whipped out an air gun and let me shoot metal pellets at the cow. Doesn’t hurt them, but they know when they get hit that they’re supposed to get out of the pond.
Well, I was hooked…it WAS fun. ;D So, we bought one at Orscheln’s on the way home from our friends’ place. I use it to chase off the deer that eat the plants from our water garden.
Mama’s right: it is the perfect balance!
Ooh, Teresa’s comment makes me think that this is what Mat needs for the groundhog and the squirrels. I can just see him on the back patio, with the cricket commentary on the radio while reads heavy academic tomes, with his airsoft gun across his lap just waiting for one of those pesky rodents to try and eat his vegetables. BWAH HA HA!
We have both the airsoft and paintball guns. Nothing like toy guns to turn young men into 5 year olds. They work great at teaching the neighbor dogs to stay away from my fence. Scares them more than hurts them.
