Local school race

Remember when I mentioned the gentleman running for the local school board?

Here’s the results:

VIGO COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, 1ST DIST.

Jackie Lower 24,321 44%

Mel Burks 19,253 35%

Larry Faulkner 11,383 21%

Can you guess who the gentleman is?  I can’t believe he actually got a fifth of the vote. (BTW, we were electing two people to the school board.)

One Response to Local school race

    Oh. My.

I thought my local school district had problems when the treasurer for the district embezzled more than one million dollars (Switzerland County, Indiana, btw).

I do admit that I went to the polls with a very limited knowledge of the persons running for the school board, although I made sure I knew the names of each of the men running for re-election who were on the board when $1 million was embezzled, and I voted against each one.

Each one of them was voted back into their positions on the school board.

Yet another reason to keep my girls at home.
