“There are certain rights that are not to be subject to popular votes, otherwise they are not fundamental rights,” … “If every fundamental liberty can be stripped away by a majority vote, then it’s not a fundamental liberty.”

How simple can you get?

Or in the words of Clarence Thomas

“…fundamental truth that the Government cannot discriminate among its citizens…”

    I want us to look back one day on this discrimination against same sex couples, with the same kind of “what? why was that EVER illegal?” attitude that we now view interracial marriages.

    I want to have hope for the resounding dismissal of Prop 8 and all other hateful laws like it. I really do.

    This helps.
