I finally DID it!!

2009070501_

Our county fair started today.  (It seemed funny only having Girl and I putting stuff in. And she only put in a bit of photography this year.)

And like the previous half dozen years, I put in something made out of leather in the open show.  And except for the first year or two, I’m usually the only entrant, and they give me first place; but I never win anything else.

‘Cause you see the open show is divided into 10 departments and leather falls in the Hobby and Crafts Department against ceramics, applied craft painting (stenciling, tole, and fabric), textile arts (dolls and stuffed animals), special materials (wood, baskets, candles, and leather), and miscellaneous crafts.

And so each of those sections awards a Championship and then the department awards a Grand Championship.

And I’ve been itching to win the Special Materials Championship for a number of years.

Well, I’m very excited to say that this time, I not only won the Special Materials Championship, I also grabbed the Grand Championship for all of Hobby and Crafts!!

I’ve been talking about our real-life changes and with moving and all I suspect that that I’ll be fairly quiet for the next couple of weeks.
But I’m also considering a virtual move.  Ron and Andrea have been wonderful, but for a couple of reasons I’m contemplating moving my blog to another site.

  • Good Morning!!!

Remember last month when I said that Parts of our Town need to wake up?
